Bank robber-volunteer project leader sentenced

Frederick "Craig" Johnson, who had been hired as a project leader at the Volunteer Centre of the Blue Sky Region, has been sentenced Feb. 25 to 12 years for eight bank robberies he committed in the Metro Toronto Area.

Johnson also received four years for having revoked his parole.

The 47-year-old man was wanted in North Bay in relation to a stolen credit card andrented automobile. He then went on a bank-robbing spree in Toronto.

Johnson was on parole for previous bank robberies while in North Bay.
