The North Bay Battalion had more late heartbreak in Ottawa as Battalion gave up a third period lead and the 67's took advantage of a crazy bounce off the glass that led to a 3-2 OT win for Ottawa Saturday afternoon at the nation's capital.

Vslevolod Gaidamak blasted home a shot into a wide open cage as Teddy Sawyer ripped a harmless shot over the net in 3-on-3 overtime and the puck rebounded off the glass out the other side near the slot for an easy winner for Gaidamak.

It's the second late heart breaking loss for the Troops at TD Place this month. On November 7, the Troops fell courtesy of a shorthanded penalty shot by Dylan Robinson with 27 seconds left in regulation in a 2-1 final.

The 67's opened the scoring on this day as Brady Stonehouse chipped one past Joe Vrbetic at 13:34.

Kyle Jackson continued his hot hand as he intercepted a pass and fed Ty Nelson who blew it past Cranley for the equalizer late in the first period.

In the second, the Troops had to battle through some adversity as Josh Currie was called for a slew-foot after a video review and was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

The Battalion weathered the five-minute 67's opportunity and kept the game at 1-1.

Late second, the Battalion top line created a turnover and Brandon Coe fed Jackson with an easy tap-in for his 14th as Petrov created the turnover that led to the goal.

The 67's got the equalizer on an odd man rush as veteran Cameron Tolnai was able to go top shelf on Joe Vrbetic in tight at the 11-minute mark.

The Battalion return home after receiving three of a possible six possible points on the tough three-in-three road trip that wrapped up today after a loss in Peterborough Thursday, a win in Kingston Friday and the OT loss in Ottawa today.

Joe Vrbetic made 29 saves in the overtime loss.

For the second straight game, the Battalion were without head coach Ryan Oulahen who the team stated was away for a "family matter."

Assistants Scott Wray and Bill Houlder operated the bench Saturday afternoon.

The Troops continue on the road on Friday, December 4 when they travel to Hamilton to face the Bulldogs.
