She's ba-aack!

You might recall we told you about an axe-wielding woman in Mattawa last week.

Well, she's back in the news.

Last Tuesday, Mattawa OPP got a 911 call about a female striking a truck with an axe. Someone was inside the vehicle at the time of the attack.

The person inside the vehicle drove away, and the attacker followed.

Police found the two vehicles on Main Street in Mattawa and were able to get them stopped by blocking the bridge.

They charged a 19-year old woman from Mattawa with:

  • Two counts of Assault with a Weapon and
  • Spousal Assault.

Yesterday, OPP Mattawa Detachment began an investigation into a person breaching conditions of an Undertaking.  Police have not released the woman's name.

Police went to a home in Mattawa and saw the same woman who was on conditions not to be in contact with her boyfriend and not to be at the residence.

The teenager had been released last week on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking after striking her boyfriend's truck with an axe the week before say OPP in a news release.

The 19-year-old from Mattawa now faces more charges;

  • two counts of Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge

    She was released on a Promise to Appear with a date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa on January 10, 2018.

    It seems it's not just Mattawa where this occurs, but spouses smashing cars with axes occurs worldwide.
