Stolen vehicle involved in accident

Police say the accused was driving southbound on Lakeshore Drive and lost control of the vehicle causing it to strike a pole

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, North Bay Police responded to a single vehicle collision in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive in the City of North Bay.

Police say the accused was driving southbound on Lakeshore Drive and lost control of the vehicle causing it to strike a pole.

A female occupant of the vehicle received injuries requiring medical attention and remains under medical care.

The accused was arrested at the scene when police arrived. It was determined that the vehicle had been stolen from a North Bay resident earlier that evening.

As a result of the investigation Daniel McCallum, age 42, of North Bay has been arrested and charged with:

  • One count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm
  • One count of Impaired Operation Over 80
  • One count of Possession of a Stolen Property Over $5,000
  • One count of Operation of Vehicle While Prohibited
  • Two counts of breach of probation 

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
