Armed Forces Day to feature 60's rockers Lighthouse.

Armed Forces Day will have a special 60's feel this year with the announcement that hit band Lighthouse will put on a show. 

Local country star Cory Marquardt will be the opening act.

Lighthouse formed in 1968 in Toronto and is known for hits such as One Fine Morning and Sunny Days.

They won Juno Awards for Best Canadian Group of the Year in 1972, 1973 and 1974.

The musical entertainment will be free as part of Armed Forces Day. Lighthouse will perform at the Kiwanis Bandshell.

It has also been confirmed that the Snowbirds will perform.

June 16th and 17th the City of North Bay will be celebrating Armed Forces Day.  June 16th activities will be held at the Canadore Aviation Campus between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with static displays and air demonstrations from the SkyHawks parachute team and Snowbirds.

June 17th activities will be held at the North Bay Waterfront between 5 - 11 p.m.  The festivities will include performances from the SkyHawks Parachute team, Snowbirds, CF-18 afterburner demonstration with musical performances from Cory Marquardt and Lighthouse to close the evening.
