Armed Forces Appreciation Day lineup shaping up

For the first time since 2019, thousands of school children are expected to witness Armed Forces Appreciation Day in person

For the first time in three years, students from all four local school boards have been invited to attend Armed Forces Appreciation Day in person. Over 5,000 school children are expected to witness the event in person, the City of North Bay confirms.

CFB North Bay and the City of North Bay are partnering to provide activities and entertainment on June 22 for Armed Forces Appreciation Day. Daytime activities include appearances by the CH-147 Chinook, Snowbirds, SkyHawks Parachute team, plus performances from the 22 Wing Band, static displays and more. The previous two events were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All activities and entertainment will be free to the public. The celebration will start at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 3:00 p.m. for the daytime programming. More details to come.

Memorial Drive will be closed to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22.
