The North Bay Police Services Board and the North Bay Police Asscciation will be going to arbitration Jan. 6 and 7.

Association president Sgt. Mike Tarini told BayToday.ca that the Ontario Police Arbitration Commission has picked Howard Snow to settle the contract dispute between the two parties.

"He's had extensive experience in arbitrating police awards throughout the province," Tarini said.

"We're hoping things will go quickly in arbitration because the latest set of negotiations was very acrimonious, didn’t go very well, and we didn’t get an opportunity to express our issues to our satifaction."

Snow was recently in North Bay to arbitrate another issue between the board and the association.

He will have 30 days to deliver binding decisions in both cases.
