April is the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Month, where more than 40,000 volunteers across Ontario join together to help fight cancer.

The daffodil is the Society's symbol of hope and each year bunches of the bight yellow flowers are sold for the annual fundraiser.

Volunteers for the North Bay Beta Sigma Phi branch were out citywide today selling daffodils for the society to help raise money in support of the research and support programs in the area. Jean Reid, Co-Chair of the Daffodil campaign along with Susan Plamondon of the branch office told BayToday sales were good at their Sobey’s location on Algonquin Avenue.

Daffodil sales raised more than $2.9 million for the Society during last year’s campaign in Ontario.
