A new case of COVID-19 has been reported within the North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit region.

The Health Unit’s website indicates the latest case is a woman between the ages of 40 and 59.  She is reported in isolation.

The virus was acquired through community transmission.

Al McDonald, North Bay' Mayor, mentioned the latest case in a recent COVID-19 social media address.

"Set back," he stated.

"Unfortunately, we had a positive test. We were entering our 13th day without any positive tests and unfortunately, that changed today. Our total is 31. We are still 2nd lowest in Ontario."

It’s the 31st case overall, with 29 resolved and one death.

A total of 23 of the cases have been in Nipissing District with the other eight in Parry Sound District.
