North Bay Food Bank officials are calling the Fall Food Drive was a great success this year.

"Thank you to the students for taking the time to knock on doors and collect food, the school staff that helped out, and thank you to everyone who donated," the North Bay Food Bank stated in a release on Thursday.

St Joseph-Scollard Hall students kicked off the food drive collecting 1,800 pounds of donations.

Widdifield students collected 2,000 pounds of food.

West Ferris students collected 7,000 pounds of food. They also need a community cheer for picking up the donations from Widdifield, and unloading the truck at the food bank.

Algonquin students wrapped up the drive and collected 2,800 pounds of donations. A shout out to the students and staff that helped unload the vehicle.

A reminder that October’s Food of the Month is baby food, pablum, large sized diapers and wipes; however the food bank welcomes all non-perishable food items as donations.

The North Bay Food Bank is available to accept food and monetary donations year round. The food bank is located at 1016 Fisher Street in North Bay and is open to serve clients Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. For more information, call the North Bay Food Bank at 705-495-3290.
