Annual Butterfly Release scheduled for July

At the Butterfly Release, in a typical year, those who have lost someone close to them reserve butterflies in their loved ones' memories

It is that time of the year again when we approach the Annual Butterfly Release date, which this year happens on the 17th of July at noon.

This year Near North Palliative Care will host its 12th Annual Butterfly Release and it will be streamed online. The event will take place at the gardens of St. Joseph's Motherhouse.

The Butterfly Release honours and memorializes our loved ones who have passed away.

At the Butterfly Release, in a typical year, those who have lost someone close to them reserve butterflies in their loved ones' memories. Then at the event, they all release their butterflies all at once.

The volunteer-based charitable organization serves as a visiting hospice offering palliative care and grief support services free of cost in communities across the Nipissing and East Parry Sound districts. Fundraising also goes toward programs for seniors in the area.

Donate by emailing [email protected] or by calling 705-497-9239.

All proceeds stay with the NNPCN to allow them to continue providing free palliative care and bereavement services in our community.
