Amber Alert issued for 2-year-old girl in northern Ontario (8:08 a.m. update: cancelled)

8:08 a.m. update

The child has been located safe and sound, say police. The Amber Alert for her has been cancelled.

The Ontario Provincial Police Service is still conducting an ongoing child abduction investigation and will continue to provide news releases and updates on this investigation.

OPP in northern Ontario have issued an Amber Alert for a two-year-old girl allegedly abducted in Rainy River, near the Manitoba boundary. 

She is described as white, 3 feet 2 inches tall with blue eyes and long blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing pink penguin pyjamas.

Fort Francis OPP have identified a suspect as the child's 36-year-old stepfather.

He is described as white, 6 feet tall, 250 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

He has forearm tattoos that say Nicole and Teagan.

Police say the stepfather is driving a 2012 Black Dodge Caravan with Ontario license CBX-S626. 

He was last seen travelling westbound on Highway 11 towards Emo, Ontario.
