Former North Bay Battalion star Mike Amadio has signed a new two-year deal with the Los Angeles Kings, the NHL club announced on Monday night.

The deal is reported to be worth $700,000 per season.

Amadio will be starting his fourth full professional season.

The 23-year-old recorded six goals and 13 points in 43 NHL games during the 2018-19 season, playing largely fourth-line minutes in a more defensive role.

Amadio had great numbers in the AHL, with 102 points in 128 career games.

While with the Kings affiliate Ontario Reign last season, Amadio most frequently centred the first line and played alongside veteran Matt Moulson

Amadio would have to pass back through waivers in order to be assigned to the AHL in the 2019-20 season.

Battalion fans remember Amadio, he netted 50 goals and 98 points for the Troops in his final season in the OHL back in 2015-16.

The Sault Ste. Marie product was taken in the third round, 50th overall by the LA Kings at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
