A former North Bay Battalion star is on move on the first day of NHL free agency Wednesday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with former Ottawa Senators centre Michael Amadio worth $750,000 with $400,000 guaranteed.

Amadio had three points on three assists in 25 regular-season games during the 2020-2021 season.

The Sault Ste. Marie product spent last year split between the LA Kings and the Ottawa Senators.

On March 29, Amadio was shipped from the Kings to the Senators in exchange for Christian Wolanin.
