The All Wheel Park will be located next to North Bay’s new multi-use courts on Oak St,

A new All-Wheel Park, which will include a skatepark and pump track, will be located adjacent to the Multi-Use Courts near the City’s Peter Reid Transit Terminal.  A Request for Proposals for the design and construction of the project closed last month and a contract will be brought before Council for approval on May 23. If awarded, work will get underway this summer.

The City is partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Nipissing in the project.

“The addition of the All-Wheel Park in this location will further enhance the Downtown Waterfront,” said Coun. Lana Mitchell, Chair of Infrastructure and Operations. "This new outdoor recreational facility will provide skateboarders and pump-track enthusiasts of all ages a place to practice and enjoy their sport.”

The All-Wheel Park will feature a plaza-style concrete skatepark, pump track, social/event plaza and container washrooms.  The entire All-Wheel Park will be accessible with seating areas, lighting, and landscaping.

“It’s exciting to see another project from the Downtown Waterfront Master Plan become real and take shape,” said Coun. Justine Mallah, Chair of Community Services. “The All-Wheel Park will be an accessible and inclusive space that will provide recreational opportunities for all age groups and abilities.”

The project is expected to cost approximately $1.6 million. It is being supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, which is providing $801,198, as well as the Kiwanis Club of Nipissing, which is contributing $100,000.

“The Kiwanis Club of Nipissing is proud to be the community partner in another project at the City’s Downtown Waterfront by providing a funding commitment of $100,000,” said Kiwanis President Justin Wigelius. “Kiwanis has a proud history of supporting community projects, including the Kiwanis Bandshell at the city’s waterfront and Kiwanis Playworld at Lee Park.”
