He won is Oscar for his role as the Butcher in the 1955 classic Marty and had a lengthy list of movies that includes From Here to Eternity and Bad Day at Black Rock.

The Emmy nominee’s television roles include 1962-66 sitcom McHale's Navy, The Hollywood Squares and The Wild Bunch.

He also voiced a character for the wildly popular children's cartoon ‘Sponge Bob Square Pants’.
