The Ontario Provincial Police are reporting Highway 17 west of North Bay is closed in both directions due to an accident at Highway 17 and Nova Beaucage Road.
The OPP advises the public to detour up Highway 11 North and Highway 64 near Marten River.
Sources at the scene say the traffic was backed up by more than 50 cars around 3 p.m.
