The Burgers for Relief Campaign brought in some significant funds for the initiative that took place this fall at various restaurants around the city.

Officials say the campaign raised $7,118.20 for the Crisis Centre North Bay.

"All monies received will go towards renovating the kitchen at North Bay’s only 24/7 co-ed homeless shelter," said Susan Rinneard, Executive Director at the Crisis Centre North Bay.

Crisis Centre officials estimate the kitchen serves more than 30,000 meals annually.

"Thank you to everyone in the community who came out to support Crisis Centre, and to the 18 restaurants who participated in 2019 to make this campaign a huge success! Many thanks to Caisse Alliance and New Ontario Brewing Co. for their sponsorship and Pizza Hut and The Sub Place for the donation of prizes," she said.

Rinneard says the Burgers for Relief program will get cooking again in September of 2020.
