27 killed in Connecticut school shooting

A gunman carrying assault weapons opened fire at an elementary school at 9:41am in Newtown, Connecticut Friday. Newtown police confirmed 20 students, 6 adults and the gunman have been shot and killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Newtown police confirmed 20 students, 6 adults and the gunman have been shot and killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The school housed grades Kindergarten to Grade 4 for kids aged 5 to 10 years old.

The scene is secured and multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating the situation and at this time they have identified the gunman as 20 year old Adam Lanza.

CNN is reporting that the gunman’s mother, who was a teacher at the school, has been shot and killed.
