The 2019 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM) is inviting residents and regional partners to an upcoming open house this Thursday.

The informal event will introduce the 2019 IPM to the community and to provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about the various ways in which they can get involved.

Following a brief presentation, participants will be invited to visit various kiosks where they can discover more about the activities planned for the 2019 IPM. Anyone interested in getting involved is encouraged to attend.

The Ontario Plowmen’s Association launched the first IPM, in 1913. Ever since, the annual event has influenced the province in the areas of agriculture, food, tourism, and regional economic development. This unique tourism experience is hosted on prime agricultural land, located in different parts of Ontario each year and works to attract approximately 80,000 visitors over the course of the five-day event.

The 2019 IPM will be only the second time in the event's history to take place in Northern Ontario.

With over 500 exhibitors and food vendors, various activities, entertainment, and interactive educational opportunities, there is an abundance of exciting activities for all ages. The event will take place from September 17 to 21, 2019 in Verner..
