Greg Miller, store manager at Burk's Falls Home Building Centre, has been recognized as the Best Young Retailer – Central Region for Home Hardware.
The Proud of My Home Achievement Awards were handed out at Home Hardware’s 2024 Homecoming event in Toronto on September 12.
Miller attributes receiving this honour to the unwavering support of the store’s local community and the dedication of his team.
“I am honoured to be recognized with the Proud of My Home Achievement Award for Best Young Retailer in Central Canada,” Miller said. “As a Home Building Centre, we’re not just a store — we’re a part of this community. Our team knows our customers by name, and we’re here to support them in every way we can. The award may have my name on it, but it belongs to the whole team. Everyone has a hand in making our customers feel welcome and at home.”
Miller joined the store in 2020 and is the son of store owners Derek and Carrie Miller, who took over the Burk’s Falls business in 2008. With over 50 years of history in the community, the store has long stood as a pillar of support for residents, whose unwavering loyalty has been key to its success.
The Best Young Retailer award celebrates the next generation of independent home retailers who demonstrate outstanding job performance, contributions to their business, and innovation.
“All across our country, there is a new generation at Home who are committed to serving their communities,” said Kevin Macnab, president and CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “As store manager Greg emulates the lessons learned watching his parents run Burk’s Falls Home Building Centre. The future of the Home brand is in good hands with young retailers like Greg.”
Founded 60 years ago in St. Jacobs, Ont., Home Hardware Stores Limited is the country's largest dealer-owned and operated home improvement retailer with more than 1,000 stores operating under the Home Hardware, Home Building Centre, Home Hardware Building Centre and Home Furniture banners.
