To the editor:

Why do we have a city council if they don't listen to the people?

I question daily the validity of having a city council that does not listen to the people but only has their (council members) likes and wants to be heeded.

People have repeatedly stated that they do NOT want or need another hockey (ice pad) for North Bay.

It's wonderful that North Bay has received such an influx of money from the Casino - NOW put it to good use. Let's really do something to help those in need.

Affordable housing and shelter for those who have none would be a good use for that money.

I'm sure there are enough vacant buildings in North Bay that something could be created.

North Bay used to be a clean and beautiful little city. Now it has the reputation of being dirty and forgotten - a place where the addicted and homeless are dropped off and shoved aside.

There is so much good that could be done with the revenues received from the Casino so I am asking - please Council Members DO NOT BUILD another arena or ice pad or anything of that ilk. We do not need it.
