Homelessness is a problem in North Bay.

To the editor:

I would like to bring a possible solution to the homeless situation in North Bay.

This is not for all homeless but only those who could work but for reasons known to them alone, are not. There are numerous situations of mental health issues and this solution would most likely not be for them.

What I propose is to gather or identify those folks who potentially can work and bring them to a work and employment forum where local businesses willing to take a chance will interview them and if they feel this person is capable to work in the business’s environment, hire them.

According to LinkedIn, there are 468 jobs available in and around North Bay.

Surely some of these homeless folks should be able to find some type of work suitable to them.

This is not a solution for all but it might bring hope to those who are down on their luck and get them back to being productive members of our society.
