The slogan "Part of The Family" means a lot to this local family

"The entire North Bay business community is extraordinary in how much it supports the community," says General Manager and Leon's North Bay VP Julie Jenkins.

The generousity of the local business community inspires its members to give back, says Julie Jenkins, General Manager and Vice President of Leon's North Bay.

The Jenkins family has been in the furniture business in North Bay for decades.

In the '80s they joined the national Leon's family, which in recent years has used the phrase "Part of The Family" within their national marketing.

Locally, the Jenkins family truly believes in the family aspect of the community and giving back to their neighbours. In fact, the entire North Bay business community is extraordinary in how much it supports the community. That from General Manager and Leon's North Bay VP Julie Jenkins.

"We see so many local businesses and business people giving back, that we're just glad to be able to do so as well," says Jenkins.

"We're fortunate that North Bay and area supports us so well, that we can do the things we believe in for the community. And, we salute all the other entrepreneurs that are able to give back as well," she adds. "We're just one of many."

She explains that she and her other family members (parents and founders Bill and Patricia, and sister Patti) try to find family-oriented opportunities to support, to match their "Part of The Family" brand identity that's been used by Leon's for years.

"We seek those things out. For example, we jumped in to support the new splash pad for kids, we've supported other things for all ages, and we also have invested in palliative care furnishings at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. We're just now investing in Nipissing Serenity Hospice to support "end of life" care, too," explains Jenkins.

She also points to what the national Leon's organization does, in giving back to communities.

"That's something we're really proud to be part of, specifically the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada," adds Jenkins.

Leon's is proud to support the initiative. For those who don't know, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada is a leading charitable organization providing programs to children and youth that support the healthy physical, educational and social development of 200,000 young people and their families each year.
