With the police closing on him, Eddie winds his way deeper into the shadows of Century City. He catches up with Charlie Perkins, owner of The Julep bar. Charlie's a worm who would sell out anyone for the right price. When Eddie makes a shocking discovery he's left wondering if he can take Charlie at his word, or if it's a lie concocted as some twisted game Charlie's playing.
Tragedy catches up to him, and Eddie is left scrambling for a place to make sense of new evidence he has on Margaret Hessen's whereabouts. He finds solace in the familiar when remnants of his past surface to remind him of who he used to be, but that knowledge could cost him his life as a stranger confronts Eddie with two choices: leave town or die.
