The Riches of Life

Are you rich in all the ways that really matter? The secret to riches exists in the relationships we keep with ourselves, and with others, in our personal and professional lives.
Are you rich in all the ways that really matter?

The secret to riches exists in the relationships we keep with ourselves, and with others, in our personal and professional lives.

For my new book, I interviewed a very wealthy entrepreneur, Jordan Adler of SendOutCards, and asked him these questions about the riches of life:

Penny: “What is the greatest richness that you experience in your life?”

Jordan: “I usually get asked why I keep doing the business when I am in a group of people. My answer is just that: the ability to share experiences and share dreams with my friends all over the world. That’s what I love to do. That’s what drives me. That’s what gets me really excited about life — to experience really fun places and have my friends with me.

People did that for me when I was just getting started in the network marketing industry. Before I had the financial resources to do those things, I was invited to fly on private jets and stay in castles in Scotland, and have dinner on the Fenn in Europe. They helped me stretch my dreams. I consider myself somewhat of a dream broker.”

Penny: “Why do you feel that you have been invited to experience these luxuries?”

Jordan: “To get invited into the inside circle, I had to demonstrate integrity and my desire to learn.

I had to demonstrate my decision by taking initiative, showing gratitude to the people who had contributed to my life, investing in myself through professional development, and investing in others.”

Penny: “If I understand you correctly, you had to first give to grow rich?”

Jordan: “Yes. I invested a lot in myself and others to grow to where I am today.”

We can put this lesson of giving into any business context.
Whether you are an employer or an employee, being “invited into the inside circle”, as Jordan put it, relates to building relationships of trust and integrity with those you work with.

Taking initiative, showing gratitude to others, and investing in yourself and others are areas well worth giving your time and attention to.
By giving first, you will grow rich in all the ways that matter.

Have a super August.
