BIOGRAPHIES PART TWO

PART ONE…It is important to organize the information in a chronological fashion and the best way to do this is with a timeline, pedigree chart and family group sheets.

BIOGRAPHIES

Most writers end up with writers block throughout their writing career. That would seem to be the case when writing biographies as well. Having some sort of formula to gather the information you need to write those biographies can help.

VALENTINES DAY BRINGS US CLOSER TO OUR ANCESTORS

It’s ok to embrace your ancestors’ skeletons. I do it all the time. It can actually be liberating. I know many of you are afraid to even open the closet let alone peek inside.

ARE YOU DYING TO WRITE YOUR OBITUARY?

Many people are fascinated by all the biographies I write for a local monthly newspaper. They cannot imagine fitting someone’s life into only 700 words, but somehow I am able to do it.

ILLNESSES & DISEASES

Ever wonder what illnesses had befallen your ancestors or what diseases they suffered from? Now days with antibiotics and preventative medicine what our ancestors may have endured were totally different from what we deal with.

CHECK OUT THE NEW FAMILY SEARCH WEBSITE!!!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been collection family history records for over 100 years. They have had their website up for several years now and have recently changed the format.

THEY HAVE DEAD PEOPLE ON THEIR WALLS

Recently I visited my girlfriend’s house and realized that she had no family pictures up, not even of herself and husband or daughter. She often speaks of her parents and I have a mental picture of what they both look like.

ANCESTOR ADVICE

If you could meet one or two of your ancestors, what advice might they give you? If you read between the lines of those ancestor documents, you just might find some hidden advice.

NEW YEARS EVE…NEW RESPONSIBILITIES

Where do your ancestors hide? Do you even have a proper plan to find them? Many of us are lucky to find our ancestors digitally perched on various genealogical websites.

CLOSURE BRINGS CHANGE, NEW BEGINNINGS AND REMINISCING

This Sunday St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church will hear its last homily before it shuts its doors forever. We knew this day would come, as we had been warned about its closure in the news.
