Genealogy In Action

BEGINNING IS ONLY HALF THE FUN CONTINUED…

A month or so ago I shared my story on the adventurous journey I had in technology while beginning my genealogy passion. This is my follow-up to it as promised at the end of that article.

RESEARCHING ANCESTORS VICARIOUSLY THROUGH GOOD OLD MOM

Well I run around taking care of family business, which involves my 14-year-old daughter, my mom, keeps me on track in the genealogy world.

150 CANADA CELEBRATIONS

Check this out. What a great way to celebrate Canada'a birthday in 2017 when the country turns 150 years old. http://www.canada150.com/Canada_150/Home.

BEGINNING IS ONLY HALF THE FUN

Back in the time when I started researching my family history, there was no such thing as the internet and not everyone had a computer in their home.

PERSONALITIES OF YOUR ANCESTORS

Ever wonder what type of personality your ancestors had? I do all the time. A person’s character can define him or her and help to understand why they make or made the decisions that they do or did.

TWILIGHT ZONE PHOTOGRAPHY

A few weeks back I entered a local photography shop in pursuit of a story. The sights and smells of the shop reminded me of the photography class I took in college so long ago.

IT WAS THE BUTLER WITH THE BUTTER

If it were not for my mom, I would not spend as much time on my own genealogy. She plugs along on the Internet and struggles to put the links together for my dad’s Latour side of the family.

DISTINGUISHING DIFFERENCES

Distinguishing the differences between two people with the same name, age and place of birth, but of course different parents, can make life hard for the genealogist.

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY IN YOUR PAST

Last week my daughter’s softball equipment was apparently stolen out of my husband’s truck while they were only a few meters away. If it truly was stolen, the person who did this was very nervy.

TREASURE HUNTING IN ENGLAND

Reading English history can having you traveling back in time to the age of Kings & Queens, Prince and Princesses, Knights and the slaying of the enemy. I myself am enjoying a history book of Ireland, which of course involves England throughout.
