Based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Algoma has a proud history as a leading manufacturer of hot and cold rolled steel sheet and plate products. We are Canada’s only discrete plate producer and one of the lowest-cost producers of hot-rolled sheet steel in North America owing in part to our state-of-the-art Direct Strip Production Complex. Our steel is used in construction, mining, manufacturing, automotive, shipbuilding, and energy sectors including renewable energy and military applications. The Role

You will be accountable for direct business-to-business sales in a dynamic, challenging fast-paced industry. The role's primary focus is selling Algoma’s world-class flat-rolled products to a diverse customer base. Your understanding of the industry and competitive factors will enable you to develop and maintain an optimum mix of customers in need of product solutions. You will play a key role in forecasting and directing production requirements while ensuring that sales targets and performance objectives are met.

Core Competencies and Skills Required

  • Post-secondary education in a related field of study (e.g. Sciences, Engineering, Business)
  • Demonstrated metal sales experience preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building, problem-solving, presentation and analytical skills that will enable you to professionally interpret and respond to customer requirements.
  • Must be prepared and willing to travel.

This is an exempt (non-union) position.
