Enterprise Architect

The location of this position is posted as Sault Ste. Marie ON; however, it may be filled in either Toronto or Sault Ste. Marie. Applicants from both regions are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary 

Reporting to the Director Enterprise Architecture, the Enterprise Architect is accountable for supporting OLG’s digital transformation efforts in the areas of Internet Gaming and Lottery offerings by maintaining all aspects of OLG’s enterprise architecture as well as stewarding architectural roadmaps that support OLG’s mission and strategic priorities.

 The position requires excellent communication and analytical skills as well as the ability to work closely with lines of business and digital experience teams.  The successful candidate must be a well-rounded, cross-lateral thinker, having a broad understanding of Information Technology products and tools with the ability to provide insights on architectural significant aspects of core operational areas within IT and the business.

 What you will be doing: 

Enterprise architecture lead for our digital expansion and continued growth in Ontario’s gaming industry to enhance the way we attract and retain our players while charting our path to developing world-class gaming entertainment for Ontario

Develop a future-looking digital architecture across all interactions with customers enabling our player-centric business strategy

Provide leadership in building modern digital journeys for our future customers enabled through responsive and flexible technologies

Develop and implement Enterprise Architecture governance, standards, tools, methodologies and policies to guide the lifecycle of OLG’s applications and infrastructure in a consistent manner

Analyze all architecture components (e.g. business, data, information, application, infrastructure) for each project/initiative and ensures alignment to the overall Enterprise Architecture roadmap

Leverage Enterprise Architecture disciplines to build an integrated system architecture for OLG that is aligned to the Technology Roadmap

Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement to update the knowledge repository of enterprise architecture methodologies, tools and frameworks to maintain market expectations

Support the identification of architectural synergy opportunities to accelerate the technology function to meet business goals, maximize the business value from OLG’s technology investments and unleash overarching innovation

Support the development of the future state of the OLG technology base and the steps to get from current state to future state to ensure alignment to the Enterprise Architecture standards 

What we are looking for: 


  • Post-secondary degree, in Information Systems, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Enterprise Architecture frameworks/certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) and/or other architectural certifications
  • 8+ years’ experience in leading the design, build and implementation of complex business application and technology solutions involving multiple technology areas
  • 6+ years’ experience in Enterprise Architecture within a large to medium sized Technology environment;
  • Proficient in Enterprise Architecture (EA) with primary knowledge in the following competency areas:
    • Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks
    • Business Architecture
    • Platform Architecture
    • Data Architecture
    • Architecture Modeling
    • Emerging Architecture trends
    • Target Architecture
    • Transitional Architecture
    • Cloud Computing Architectures
    • Infrastructure Modeling
    • Technology Standards, Procedures & Policies
    • Event-driven architectures


  • Enterprise Architecture expertise in Internet Gaming and Social Gaming industries
  • Proven Architectural experience in application and web development frameworks and associated technologies such as:

·         .NET and Java Frameworks

·         SQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases

·         HTML5/Javascript/CSS

·         Azure/AWS Services 

·         Web Services, microservices, integration, messaging and APIs

·         back-end technologies, e.g. C#, IIS

  • Experience with agile design/development methodologies
  • Knowledge of project and software development lifecycles required, Project Management certification is an asset
  • An innovative leader with strong written and verbal communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills to provide outstanding service to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask and work well under pressure to deliver on tight time frames
