Project Management Bootcamp – Thursday April 11th 9:00am–4:00pm Commerce Court
This one-day workshop covers the basic concepts and functions of project management, and their integration into a coherent project management framework. It is created for those new to project management, team members and technical leads with no formal PM training. It is also a wonderful refresher for those that need to spruce up their PM skills.
This workshop allows participants to apply their new skills immediately. The emphasis throughout the course is on making project management easy to understand and apply in the workplace. This course will allow project managers to identify and eliminate critical pitfalls and establish consistent project success.
The course will provide participants with a basic understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) as a defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Earn 1 PDU for every hour of this session.
Learning Objectives for PM Bootcamp:
• Defining the project problem and understand measurable targets
• Breakdown the project scope into manageable tasks
• Create a workable schedule, understanding work effort vs. duration
• Carry out effective project meetings
• Close the project properly and save useful documents

Working LEAN – Friday April 12th 9:00am-4:00pm Commerce Court
This one-day workshop covers the basic LEAN concepts and the application of many tools and techniques that will enable process improvements. Concepts to work toward reduction of inefficiencies across every business area, including management, service delivery, design, production and end customer satisfaction. This session blends theoretical concepts and practical ideas, delivering this knowledge through interactive learning environment.
This workshop allows participants to apply some new Lean tools immediately. This course will allow participants to perform small process improvements, quality changes in their roles, benefiting them, their projects and their organization.

• Understand what is Lean and the goals of Lean
• Determine when to apply Lean
• Work through some of Lean tools
• Understand Projects vs Improvements
• DMAIC cycle
• Understanding and building an A3
