Vehicle with expired plate and driver unlicensed due to previous driving suspensions

Police stopped a vehicle with an expired plate and the driver was unlicensed due to previous driving suspensions.

On March 23, 2023, shortly before 4 p.m., a member of the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 11 and Highway 17 bypass in the City of North Bay for having an expired licence plate.

As a result of the investigation, a person in their 30s from Callander was charged with the following:

·        Operate motor vehicle while under suspension - two counts.

·        Operate motor vehicle without insurance.

·        Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.

The accused is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice sometime in May 2023. 

The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
