Two charged in mid-September Circle Lake assault

The North Bay Police Service has charged two Young Offenders in relation to an incident that occurred in Circle Lake Park last month and left the victims with minor, non-life threatening physical injuries as a result.

On Sept. 15, police, including the NBPS ERT team, responded to the report of an assault in the area of Lake Heights Road and Madelena Drive. The victims and one of the accused are known to one another. The victims had agreed to meet with the accused who was known to them in that area. Upon meeting, the accused known to them began assaulting the male victim with a blunt object. The female victim attempted to intervene and stop the assault, at which
point the same accused also assaulted her. While these events were unfolding, the other accused had been hiding in an area of bush, at which point that accused emerged and also assaulted the male victim.

Both accused then fled the area.
