On Fourth Avenue East shortly after 10 p.m. yesterday, North Bay Police arrested a male pedestrian who had previously been identified by police as a suspect of a recent attempt theft from vehicles.

Man faces drug charges

On Fourth Avenue East shortly after 10 p.m. yesterday (Oct. 31, 2016), North Bay Police arrested a male pedestrian—Bernard Ronald Soucie, age 43, of North Bay—who had previously been identified by police as a suspect of a recent attempt theft from vehicles.

Following a search of his person, police seized:
14.5 grams of cocaine;
Suboxone (8mg pills x 21.5);
Codeine (50mg pills x 5);
Codeine (30mg pill x 1);
A small amount of marijuana; and
$1,460 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, police charged him with:
One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
Three counts of possession of a schedule I substance;
One count of possession of a schedule II substance (marijuana); and
One count of possession of property (cash) obtained by crime.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. The investigation continues.
