On Sunday, June 18, 2017, at approximately 8 a.m., an unknown male attempted to gain entry into a business on the 1200 block of Algonquin Avenue.

Attempt break and enter on Algonquin Avenue

On Sunday, June 18, 2017, at approximately 8 a.m., an unknown male attempted to gain entry into a business on the 1200 block of Algonquin Avenue. There was significant damage caused to the premises, but no entry was gained. A witness reported seeing a suspicious man who was near the building at the time.

The suspect is described as:
A white male;
5’8- 5’9”, 160 lbs;
wearing all black clothing; and
carrying a yellow/orange umbrella.

Collision involving motorcycle and van

North Bay Police were dispatched to McIntyre Street East and John Street yesterday (Monday, June 19, 2017) at 11:29 a.m. in response to a report of collision involving a motorcycle and a van. Following an investigation by North Bay Police Service patrol officers and its Forensic Identification Officer, the driver of the motorcycle was charged with “Red light – Proceed before green” under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act 144 (18).

At the time of the collision, the van was southbound on John Street and travelling through the intersection at McIntyre Street East on a green light. The motorcycle, travelling westbound on McIntyre Street East, crossed the intersection on a red light, where it was struck by the van.

The male driver of the motorcycle and his female passenger, as well as the male driver of the van, were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
