Single-vehicle collision leads to impaired driving charges

On Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at 11:10 p.m., following a 9-1-1 call, North Bay Police patrol officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Marshall Park Drive and Lakeshore Drive. Upon arrival, police located the abandoned vehicle mounted on a snow bank on the south east corner of the intersection. Police arrested the driver inside a convenience store across the road from the scene of the collision.

Following an investigation, North Bay Police charged the driver, a 34-year-old North Bay man, with:
One count of drive while ability impaired; and
One count of drive with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.

The accused was released with a court date scheduled for Feb. 7, 2017.

Break and enter investigation

Sometime between 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 and 8:45 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, an unknown person or persons broke into a business located on the 200 block of McIntyre Street East. Reported missing were a Dell Latitude laptop computer and black canvass carrying case, a Lenova computer screen and cash.
