Man faces charges following stabbing incident

Following an investigation into a 9-1-1 call reporting a stabbing that took place shortly before midnight on Sunday, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Frederick Richard Trottier, age 48, of North Bay, with:
One count of assault with a weapon; and
One count of aggravated assault.

On Sunday, Apr. 16, 2017, at approximately 11:44 p.m., the accused and three other suspects drove to the residence of a North Bay man known to him and confronted him in his driveway. Following a verbal argument, it is alleged that the suspects physically assaulted the victim. After the suspects left the scene, the victim realized that he had been stabbed. A neighbour called 9-1-1 and the victim was immediately transported to hospital by ambulance.

Yesterday, the accused turned himself in to police headquarters where he was arrested and charged, and held in custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation continues.
