Transport driver charged with 'race a motor vehicle'

The driver of this transport faces stunt driving charges for speeding.

A speeding transport truck driver has had his rig impounded for two weeks after being caught in Latchford, about 90 minutes north of North Bay.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Friday a Temiskaming OPP officer was conducting pro-active patrols in the town.

A southbound transport approached the officer's location, travelling in excess of 100 kilometres per hour in a posted 60 km/h zone. 

The 24-year-old driver from Caledon, is charged with "Race a motor vehicle - stunt."

The rig was impounded for 14 days and the driver's licence has been suspended for 30 days. 

The driver was released by way of a court summons and is scheduled to appear at court on November 25, 2021, in Temiskaming Shores.
