Traffic complaint leads to North Bay man's arrest

A North Bay resident has been charged with dangerous and impaired driving on Highway 17 west, after another motorist complained.  

Yesterday afternoon Nipissing West Detachment OPP responded to the traffic complaint on Highway 17, City of Greater Sudbury.

The vehicle was stopped by police and the driver was arrested for impaired driving and then taken to the Greater Sudbury Police Service for further testing. 

Patrick O'Neil, 53, from North Bay, is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

O'Neil was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 8 in Sudbury

He was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
