Two face drug charges

On Tuesday afternoon, following a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation, officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime unit arrested:

Philip Ray Hermans (age 45 of North Bay) at Cassells Street and First Avenue and charged him with:
three counts of trafficking crack cocaine;
one count of possession of property obtained by crime; and
one count of breach of OIC undertaking.  

It is alleged that on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, shortly after 2:20 p.m., the accused sold crack cocaine to a woman who was in a parked vehicle on Cassells Street and First Avenue at the time. It is also alleged that on two separate occasions on Monday, April 25, 2016 he sold her crack cocaine at the same location.

Police also arrested a 34-year-old North Bay woman at the same location and time on Tuesday, April 26 and charged her with one count of possession of crack cocaine. She was released from custody with a court date scheduled June 7, 2016.

As a result of the investigation and search after the arrests, police seized a small quantity of crack cocaine and cash. Hermans was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Mississauga man faces drug charges

On Wednesday evening, following an ongoing Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation and a traffic stop conducted at the bypass of Hwy 11 and Hwy 17, officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime unit arrested and charged:

Kyle McDonald, age 28 of Mississauga, Ontario, with:
one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; and
one count of possession of morphine.

Police seized 100 grams of crack cocaine, with a street valued estimated at $15,000. A small quantity of morphine was also seized.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Update: Temagami woman faces drug and weapon charges

As a result of an ongoing Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation that began in February 2016, North Bay Police patrol and Street Crime officers conducted a traffic stop at Memorial Drive and Judge Avenue on Tuesday, April 27, 2016 at approximately 1 p.m. and arrested and charged
Ashley Ann Gaudette, age 27, of Temagami with:

three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking;
two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
one count of possession of a marihuana;
one count of possession of a prohibited device;
one count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime;
two counts of careless use of a firearm;
one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; and
one count of breach of probation.

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 31, 2016.
