Woman faces charges for assault and threats
Following an investigation into a number of complaints of assault and threats, the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged:
A 25-year-old woman with:
two counts of uttering threats;
three counts of assault; and
one count of assault causing bodily harm.
It is alleged that on a number of occasions from January to March 2016, while she was a patient, the accused assaulted four staff members of the mental health unit of the North Bay Regional Health Centre and threatened two others. Victim injuries were non-life-threatening.
The accused was arrested on Wednesday, April 19, transported from the hospital to police headquarters and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Results of today’s targeted traffic enforcement
The North Bay Police Service’s traffic officer, working in partnership with patrol officers, conducted a targeted traffic enforcement on Thursday, April 21 at the Cst. Fred Lefebvre overpass from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The results are as follows:
15 speeding tickets issued (the highest speed was 75 km/hr);
two 72-hour notices issued for documentation (drivers have 72 hours to show police their insurance slip or proof of ownership.)
