Police pursuit leads to charges At approximately 11:37 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, a North Bay Police patrol officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Clarence Street towards Main Street West.

Police pursuit leads to charges

At approximately 11:37 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, a North Bay Police patrol officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Clarence Street towards Main Street West. While attempting to stop the vehicle, the officer observed the driver continue at a high rate of speed eastbound on Main to Bell Street, McIntyre Street West and Cormack Street without stopping for two stop signs or police. For security reasons, the police pursuit was discontinued at Jane and Clarence.

At approximately 11:41 p.m., police located the parked vehicle on Clarence Street and observed the male driver running into a building, where he was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Byron John Ballantine, age 28, of North Bay with:
One count of dangerous driving; and
One count of flight from peace officer.

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 17, 2016.
