NERVY COMPLAINT
On the 6th of April during the afternoon hours two individuals were walking by a downtown business and they grabbed a floor mat that was offered for sale. They continued walking and were seen by staff who ran after them. They were caught and the mat was taken away from them.

The staff then returned to the store and called the North Bay Police Service.

Cst Andre Berube of this Service was taking the report when the thieves called the store to complain about the way they were treated by the staff when apprehended.

Cst. Berube took the phone and pretended to be the manager. He apologized to them and asked them to come to the store and he would further apologize to them in person and chastise the staff in question.

The thieves took the bait and came in.

The officer then arrested them for the initial theft.

A 30 year old male is charged with Theft Under $5000.
