OPP nabs driver in Temagami wanted for North Bay collision

Police say the responding officers determined the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was transported to the detachment for further testing

TEMAGAMI, Ont. — A driver has been charged in Temagami with impaired following a collision in North Bay by the Ontario Provincial Police.

On January 12, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., members of the Temagami Detachment of the OPP  located a vehicle wanted for its suspected involvement in a collision in North Bay on Highway 11 in Temagami.

Police say the responding officers determined the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was transported to the detachment for further testing. As a result of the investigation, Joshua Redtman, 27, of Rockland, Ont., was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol

The North Bay Police Service is investigating the collision within its jurisdiction in a parking lot in the 1700 block of Algonquin Avenue.

The driver was issued a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on February 4, 2025.
