On January 3, shortly after 10:30 a.m., East Algoma OPP officers responded to ongoing neighbour disputes in Blind River.

An investigation determined the complainants were continually being followed, video recorded with the videos posted on social media with derogatory comments from the accused.

One of the complainants had their land surveyed because they were having issues with the accused removing Ancillary Monuments (survey markers) on several occasions.

On another occasion, one of the complainants observed the accused spray paint an inappropriate message on a rock face that was directed at them.

As a result, Joshua Brown, 40, from Blind River is charged with:

  • Four counts of Criminal Harassment-Repeatedly Follow, Repeatedly Communicate With, Watch or Beset, Threatening Conduct,
  • Two counts of Mischief-Obstruct, Interrupts, or Interferes with the Lawful Use, Enjoyment or Operation of Property
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking

Brown appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on January 30, and was remanded into custody.
