NBPS: Employee takes punch; charges laid

Members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a 42-year-old North Bay male with assault, Friday, following an incident at a Trout Lake Road business involving one of its employees.

NBPS reports the accused is Adam Steven Bourget, male, age 42, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Assault
  • Three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

NBPS responded following a report that the accused physically assaulted a victim outside a business on Trout Lake Road in North Bay at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say the victim, an employee of the business, had observed the accused bothering customers. The victim attempted to speak with the accused, at which time the accused approached the victim and struck the victim using his fist before leaving the area. The victim and accused are not known to one another.

The victim in this incident sustained minor, non-life-threatening physical injuries as a result of the assault.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
