Weekend Occurrences
Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 246 calls for service, and arrested and charged 14 people with the following offences:
One person was charged with one count of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of possession of stolen property over $5000 and one count of possession of stolen property under $5000.
Two people were charged with one count of possession of Methamphetamine pills for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, and one count of possession of stolen property under $5000;
One person was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance;
Two people were charged with one count of domestic assault;
One person was charged with one count of domestic assault and one count of uttering threats;
Two people were charged with public intoxication;
One person was charged with one count of domestic assault and one count of forcible confinement;
One person was charged with one count of break and enter and one count of breach of Officer in Charge undertaking;
One person was charged with assault with a weapon;
One person was charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of uttering threats; and
One person was charged with one count of uttering threats.
North Bay man faces child luring charges
On Thursday, September 17, 2015, following suspicious online activity that was reported to police on August 31, 2015 by a complainant close to the victim and as a result of a search warrant that the North Bay Police Service executed on the accused’s residence, James Rudolph Young, age 41, of North Bay was arrested at his residence and charged with:
Two counts of online luring of a person under 16 years of age;
One count of trafficking marijuana;
One count of sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age;
One count of sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age;
One count of invitation to sexual touching.
It is alleged that between June 26, 2015 and August 30, 2015, the accused used social media to communicate with an under 16-year-old male victim of North Bay in a sexual manner. He also arranged to meet the victim on two occasions in the victim’s backyard where the accused provided him with marijuana and sexually assaulted him.
The North Bay Police Service has seized the accused’s computer and cell phone as evidence.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on Friday September 18th 2015.
This investigation is ongoing.

Four face drug charges
Over the weekend, following an ongoing Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation, members of the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit arrested and charged four people.
Vincent Michael DiFalco, age 27, of North Bay was charged with:
One count of trafficking;
Two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking;
Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon;
One count of possession of stolen property over $5000;
One count of possession of stolen property under $5000.
A 44-year-old North Bay man was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Melissa Anna DiFalco, age 31, of North Bay was charged with:
One count of possession of Methamphetamine pills for the purpose of trafficking;
One count of possession of a prohibited weapon; and
One count of possession of stolen property under $5000.
Kelly Fergus, a 41-year old man, of North Bay was charged with:
One count of possession of Methamphetamine pills for the purpose of trafficking;
One count of possession of a prohibited weapon; and
One count of possession of stolen property under $5000.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday September 19, 2015, police observed Vincent DiFalco conduct a hand to hand drug transaction with a man on Wallace Road. Police arrested both men at the scene. As a result of a subsequent search of both men, police seized 20 methamphetamine pills, $120 in cash, an edged weapon and DiFalco’s vehicle as offence-related property.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Sunday September 20, members of the Street Crime Unit executed a CDSA search warrant at a residence on Britton Street, where the two other accused were arrested. Two parked vehicles in the driveway were also searched. As a result of the search, police seized a number of items, including 4,536 methamphetamine pills, numerous boxed items (suspected to be stolen) and the two vehicles as offence-related property.
The estimate total street value of the methamphetamine pills seized is over $30,000.
Vincent DiFalco, Melissa DiFalco and Kelly Fergus were held in custody for bail hearings. The fourth accused was released with a court date scheduled for October 27, 2015.
Young person faces B&E charge
Following a report to police from a concerned citizen regarding a suspicious person outside a North Bay storage facility shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday September 19th, North Bay Police arrested and charged a young person with one count of break and enter with intent and one count of breach of Officer in Charge undertaking.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Youth Criminal Justice Act
In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing any information about the accused, including name, age, gender and location of residence.
Young person charged with assault and uttering threats
At police headquarters on the morning of Friday, September 18, 2015 following an investigation into a report of an assault, North Bay Police arrested and charged a young person with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of uttering threats.
It is alleged that the accused physically assaulted another youth on March 31, 2015 outside, near a local high school. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident. It is also alleged that the accused threatened the victim in August 2015.
The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for October.

In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing any information about the accused, including name, age, gender and location of residence.
Man faces assault and forcible confinement charges
Following an investigation into a report of a suspected domestic assault, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 35-year old Attawapiskat man with one count of assault and one count of forcible confinement.
It is alleged that at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, September 19 in a North Bay motel room, an argument between the accused and his female partner turned violent when the accused physically assaulted her and then prevented her from leaving the room.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.
North Bay man charged with assault with a weapon
A concerned citizen contacted police on Friday, September 18 at approximately 10 p.m. to report a suspected domestic assault. Following an investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 19-year-old North Bay man with one count of assault with a weapon.
It is alleged that a verbal argument between the accused and his common-law partner turned violent when he threw an object at her. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
The accused was held in custody for bail.
In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.

Caledon man faces sexual interference and sexual assault charges
Following an investigation into a report of sexual assault that began in December 2014 and a warrant that the North Bay Police Service obtained for his arrest, Sean Patrick Joseph Leblond, age 49, of Caledon, Ontario turned himself in to police NBPS headquarters on September 17, 2015, where police charged him with:
three counts of sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age; and
one count of sexual assault.
It is alleged that on several occasions between 1992 and 1998, the accused made sexual advances and sexually assaulted a male victim who was a child at the time.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
This investigation is ongoing.
