Assault, theft, fraud, and a collision

On Sept. 10 2017 in the early morning hours, the victim was at a bar in the 100-block of Main St East. When the victim stepped outside for a cigarette, it is alleged that he was struck by a male causing him to fall to the ground. When the victim attempted to get back up, the accused kicked him in his head. Paramedics attended and transported him to the NBRHC. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.

The North Bay Police are continuing their investigation.

Charged is:

Brett Valade, 20 years of North Bay, with:

  • 1 count of assault causing bodily harm

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

 

On Sept. 8, 2017 at approximately 1:39 p.m., a North Bay City Transit bus was on Wyld Street making a left turn onto McIntyre Street East. It is alleged that a cyclist passed several cars while operating his bicycle while travelling along at the center line and struck the driver’s side of the bus behind the front wheel while it was making the left turn.

The bus driver reacted immediately and stopped the bus. The cyclist was taken to the North Bay Regional Health center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The North Bay Police are still investigating.

 

Between Sept. 5 and 6, 2017 an unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked motor vehicle located in the 300 block of sixth Ave West. An iPod was taken from the vehicle. After a brief investigation the North Bay Police identified the individual. On Sept. 10, 2017 the accused was taken into police custody. The iPod was recovered.

Charged is:

Louise Lecuyer, 35 years of North Bay, with:

  • 1 count of theft under $5000

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

 

On Aug. 27, 2017, unknown suspect(s) did enter a motor vehicle on Olive Street and took a wallet from inside the vehicle. On Aug. 30, 2017 the victim’s credit card was used at retail businesses in North Bay. The North Bay Police conducted an investigation an identified the accused. On Sept. 9, 2017 the accused located on Cassell’s street and taken into custody. A search of the accused also revealed a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Charged is:

Ryan Plausteiner, (31) of North Bay with:

  • 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime

  • 1 count of unauthorized use of credit card

  • 1 count of possession of a controlled substance

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
