Single-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Saturday

North Bay Police were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, following a call from a concerned citizen who suspected the male driver was intoxicated. The driver’s car was in the ditch on Tower Drive.

Following an investigation, police arrest and charged the 23-year-old male driver from Nipissing, Ontario, with:
One count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle; and
One count of driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for Nov. 8, 2016.

Single-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Sunday

North Bay Police were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, following a call from a concerned citizen who suspected the female driver was intoxicated. The driver’s van was in the ditch on Norwood Avenue.

Following an investigation, police arrested and charged the 32-year-old female driver from Redbridge, Ontario, with:
One count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle; and
One count of driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

She was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for Nov. 8, 2016.

Theft from vehicle

North Bay Police are currently investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. A wallet containing cash and identification was taken from a vehicle parked on Labreche Drive. The emptied wallet was later found near Marshall Avenue and Lakeshore Drive. Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a male suspect, described as:
a Caucasian man, possibility in his 30s;
with a buzz cut and receding hairline, a moustache and a thin beard;
wearing a winter coat, jeans and running shoes and carrying a back pack.

Thefts from vehicles

North Bay Police are currently investigating numerous reports of thefts from vehicles.

Early Sunday morning (Oct. 30, 2016), a person unknown entered and attempted to enter several vehicles parked on Marshall Park Drive and Massey Drive. Cash and identification were reported stolen.
