Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 218 calls for service, and arrested and charged 13 people with the following offences:
One person was charged with one count of domestic assault and three counts of breach of probation;
One person was charged with one count of domestic assault and one count of mischief;
One person was charged with two counts of uttering threats and one count of criminal harassment following a domestic dispute;
Four people were charged with public intoxication;
One person was charged with one count of theft under $5,000, three counts of use of credit card, and one count of breach of probation;
One person was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and four counts of breach of probation;
One person was charged with one count of theft under $5,000;
Two people were charged with one count of breach of Officer in Charge undertaking;
One person was charged with one count of breach of Officer in Charge undertaking and one count of breach of probation.

North Bay man faces domestic assault charge

North Bay Police were immediately dispatched to Algonquin Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, November 27 following a 911 call to police reporting a theft. An unknown man had run in front of a vehicle on Algonquin at Lansdowne Avenues, ripped off the vehicle’s Ontario licence plate and then walked away.

On arrival, police officers located the suspect sitting behind a car wash on Algonquin Avenue. He was with his female partner who was visibly injured.

Following an investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged the 39-year-old North Bay man with:
One count of domestic assault; and
Three counts of breach of probation.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in order to protect the identity of the victim, was held in custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation into the theft of the licence plate, which remains missing, is ongoing.

North Bay man faces charges for domestic assault

Following a 911 call reporting a domestic assault received at 5:47 a.m. on Saturday morning, North Bay arrested a 22-year-old man outside his North Bay residence and charged him with:
One count of mischief; and
One count of assault.

It is alleged that between 5:30 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015, following a verbal dispute between the accused and his female partner in their residence, the accused damaged property, physically assaulted her and then left the premises.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was held in custody for bail.

In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, North Bay Police will not be releasing the name of the accused.
